“We can’t heal the world, but we can begin with a voice of compassion, a heart of love, and an act of kindness.”
MEET SOPHIA
Sophia C. Grodotzke, MSW, LCSW
Do you often feel anxious or unsure of yourself? Are you struggling to move through grief after a loss? Is it difficult to feel whole again—like the pieces just don’t quite fit together? You're not alone, and you’ve come to the right place.
Compassionate Mind Therapy LLC provides high-quality mental health care for adults living in Florida and New York. With over a decade of experience supporting individuals facing grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression, the mission is to walk alongside clients in their journey toward healing and growth.
Founder and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Sophia, holds a BA in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue, NY, and a Master of Social Work from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. Prior to opening a private practice, Sophia worked for over six years as a medical social worker with the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Long Island, where she also served as the VA LGBTQIA+ Veteran Care Coordinator.
Treatment is person-centered and tailored to each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. The therapeutic approach integrates humanistic and behavioral frameworks, with psychodynamic elements to explore how early life experiences may influence present-day patterns. Education, empowerment, and collaboration are at the heart of the therapeutic process.
The goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can freely explore their thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgment. Reaching out is often the hardest part—but reading this is already a courageous first step.
Licensed to practice in both Florida and New York, Sophia is EMDRIA-trained in EMDR and currently accepting new clients for online therapy.
